Terms of Membership

The agreement between you and Federal Africa when you create an account and take up a membership.

What Federal Africa is

Federal Africa is a citizen-led simulation of a united Africa, with its own charter, institutions and identity system. It is a civic project. Membership, offices, votes and Federal IDs exist inside the simulation and give no legal nationality, citizenship, immunity or authority outside it.

Who may join

  • Membership is open to every African, at home and in the diaspora, aged 18 or over.
  • You must give true details and keep your email address current.
  • One person, one account. Accounts may not be shared or transferred.

Membership tiers and payment

  • Two tiers, both for twelve months: Federal Citizen at 12 US dollars and Federal Leader at 120 US dollars, at the founding member rate. The rate holds for everyone who joins during the founding period and is reviewed once the institutions are seated; changes never apply to a year already paid.
  • Your account exists from sign-up; your membership is active from the day the payment provider confirms your payment to us.
  • An account that has not paid within 30 days of sign-up is deleted.
  • Nothing renews automatically. We remind you a month before your year ends; you pay again when you choose.
  • Citizen to Leader is possible at any time, with the unused part of your year credited. Leader to Citizen takes effect at renewal.
  • Prices are in US dollars; your bank or mobile money provider sets the exchange rate and may add its own fees.

What membership gives

  • Federal Citizen: vote in citizen councils, join projects and forums, find or found a local community, a Federal ID when enrollment opens, a public profile.
  • Federal Leader: everything in Citizen, standing for office and seats, leadership forums and training.
  • Offices and seats are held under the Charter; the Charter and the rules of each institution decide eligibility, terms and removal.

Conduct

  • Treat other members with respect. No harassment, hate, threats, or incitement.
  • No impersonation of people, offices or institutions, and no false claims of office.
  • No spam, advertising, or use of the member directory for anything but Federal Africa business.
  • Content you post stays yours; you give Federal Africa a licence to show it on the site for as long as it is there. Content may be removed by community organisers or staff when it breaks these rules.

Suspension and ending

  • You can delete your account from your dashboard at any time. The Refund Policy says what, if anything, is refunded.
  • We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why, except where the breach makes immediate action necessary. Serious breaches forfeit the remaining membership period.

Liability

The site and the simulation are provided as they are. We work to keep them available and accurate but do not promise uninterrupted service. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the membership fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes and contact

We may change these terms; the effective date at the top shows the current version and members are told of material changes by email. Questions go to info@federalafrica.org.
